I have been drinking lemon water most mornings for about 6 months and have really noticed some of the benefits, the first one
being my skin. I have always suffered with blemishes and as the menopause set in it flared up, as soon as I started drinking the lemon water my skin settled down and I rarely get blemishes now. It has also given me a kick start to the day by boosting my energy levels, I have definitely felt a difference.
The other main one for me is knowing it is helping to cleanse my liver, especially important if I’ve had one too many the night before!
You can also add some fresh ginger which gives it a kick and has additional benefits, such as combating stomach discomfort, reduces inflammation, remedies menstrual discomfort, strengthens immunity and relieves stress (to name a few).
You could also add: Fennel, cucumber, orange to cold water to make a refreshing hydrating healthy drink.
A couple of tips, don’t brush your teeth straight after drinking the lemon water, as it will rub acid into your teeth, it is suggested you brush your teeth before or at least an hour after, you can also swill with clean water after drinking if you are worried about your teeth.
Secondly, some people say you should use purified water – I will leave it up to you, either way drinking the lemon is going to do you some good.
Go on, give it a go for a week and see how you feel!
