A Couple of Healthy, Nutritious Recipes which Taste Divine!
We thought we’d share a couple of simple, healthy, nutritious recipes company of our resident weight loss and nutrition expert Sonia Grimes, owner of YOUtrition.
Do you know your macronutrients? Protein blunts hunger. Carbs give you energy, although you need to choose wisely, healthy carbs not sugary carbs). Healthy fats, to keep you feeling full and burn more calories. Knowing this will help you create healthy, nutritious recipes!
Here’s a delicious, healthy and easy recipe, which you could have for breakfast or lunch:-
Smoked Salmon & Poached Eggs
Slice of Wholemeal Bread
You choose whether to toast the bread or not, spread on the cottage cheese, one layer each of rocket, avocado and smoked salmon topped off with a poached egg and pinch of pepper (or a few grinds).
So quick and easy, extremely tasty and oh so good for you! If you want to add some spinach or replace the rocket with spinach you can.
YOUtrition’s next recipe can be eaten for breakfast or dessert (we love that a lot of Sonia’s recipes double up!)
No measurements, you can tell from the consistency how much milk and oats are needed (you don’t want it too runny). Mix the oats, egg, banana and almond milk in a blender. Pour into a non stick or very lightly oiled frying pan and cook both sides. Stack in a bowl or on a plate and top with your yoghurt, chopped strawberries and blueberries.
Low fat, low carb, low calorie, low sugar, high nutrient 3 x portions fruit, very filling & absolutely divine! If you’re craving something sweet, these are quick and easy to make and will definitely curb those cravings.
